Accreditation
ACCREDITATION
The Georgia Accrediting Commission asked our school to serve as a field-test site for pre-kindergarten standards. After the standards were developed, field-tested, and approved by the Board of Directors in 1991, we were one of the first preschool programs to be accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission.
In March 2007 the school was designated as a Center of Distinction by the state of Georgia.
RULES AND DISCIPLINE
It is our philosophy that children best interact in an environment in which they feel safe and secure. We do not believe in corporal punishment. Our discipline methods include positive reinforcement, redirection, and when the need arises, time out. We do not yell at the children and feel it is very important for the child’s self-esteem that parents refrain from yelling or disciplining their children in front of the other children.
Our rules are simple and straightforward. They are based on four principles: safety, respect for self, respect for others, and respect for property.
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION
The preschool advertises for children in the public media in order to make openings known to all. Children are admitted regardless of race, creed, color, sex, national origin, or religion.
We reserve the right to dismiss a child if it is determined that the child will not profit from his/her experience in our program.
